Joshua Robertson is a stand-up comedian, writer and actor. Joshua had a quad bike accident at 11 that left him in a coma for months and now lives with a physical disability. He was told he would never walk or talk again.

Now, he is now a professional stand up, touring across the country and performing in the UK’s top venues. He has also supported Tom Stade and Shappi Khorsandi on Tour, and has performed to royalty at the Rose Theatre, Kingston.

Alongside his impressive stand-up performances, Joshua is a talented writer and actor. Dad Joke a comedy short which Joshua co-wrote and stars in, was commissioned by the BFI NETWORK and Film London, premiering at the BFI London Film Festival. Joshua received “best lead actor” at the Oxford International Short Film Festival and in 2022, Dad Joke was listed on the Brit List. The Brit List is a once-yearly compilation of the best unproduced scripts by U.K. writers, as recommended by the industry. It’s highly coveted and offers huge exposure to UK writers and creatives. He also received a John Brabourne Award to support the adaptation of this short into a TV series alongside the support of the EIFF Talent Lab Connects Scheme.
